Selectionfor 10 PhD positions in the PhD Programme is announced, 9 positions will be assigned grants.
The grantsare financed as follows:
7 grants University of Trento
1 grant ISSAN (Istituto Studi Sviluppo AziendeNonprofit) related to area of research "Behavioural Economics" about the topic:Economics of Cooperation and Third Sector
1 grant Trento School of Management related to the area of research "Organizationand Management" about the topic: Management Development.
The numberof grant-assisted places may be increased by funds from universities, publicresearch bodies or qualified private organizations made available after thepublication of this announcement and before the beginning of the selection. ART. 2-ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicationsfor the PhD positions above are invited from candidates, regardless of sex, ageand nationality, who have an Italian "laurea specialistica", instituted incompliance with Ministerial Decree no. 509 of 3.11.1999 as amended, auniversity degree of the previous Italian regulations in force or equivalentdegree qualification obtained abroad.
Applicantswho have a foreign qualification that has not been officially recognized asequivalent to the Italian degree should submit a request for equivalence to berecognized in their application for the competition.
In thiscase, citizens of the European Union have to attach to their application theirdegree certificate or degree self-certification (according to PresidentialDecree no. 445 of 28.12.2000 concerning EU citizens), whereas applicants from acountry outside Europe have to attach to the application a translation inEnglish of the degree certificate with exams and scores obtained, signed undertheir own responsibility, so as to allow the Graduate School Committee todeclare the equivalence, valid for the only purpose of participating in theselection.
Successfulapplicants from a country outside Europe have to present their degreecertificate with the examinations passed and the scores obtained, translatedand authenticated by an Italian consulate, embassy or diplomatic representativein the country of the university that issued the degree and the respective declarationof equivalent value ("Dichiarazione di valore") not later than the date set for enrolment in the PhD Programme.
Applicationsare also invited from students who expect to complete their degree by the dateof the assessment of qualifications. In such cases, admission will be"conditional" and the applicant must be able to present the relevantdegree certificate, or a declaration that the degree has been conferred (incompliance with Presidential Decree no. 445 of 28.12.2000, applicable only to EUcitizens), by the date of the assessment of qualifications.
Art. 3 -THE PhD PROGRAMME
The Doctoral School in Economics and Management offersa wide training for research in the fields of decision sciences, organisation,human and natural resource management and the functioning of markets, with aspecial attention to methodologies used in a behavioural approach to economicstudies.
Demand foryoung researchers with wide background in Economics and a special training onbehavioural models is steadily growing both in private and public researchcentres.
The PhDProgramme is organized as follows:
1° year: training courses and related "ComprehensiveExaminations";
2° year: advanced courses, seminars and formulation ofthe thesis proposal;
3° year: research. Students will be encouraged tospend the third year in a research centre abroad.
