IDB Merit Scholarship Program for High Technology
Aim and Objective
The IDB (Islamic Development Bank) Merit Scholarship Program aims at developing technically qualified human resources in the IDB member countries by providing scholarships to promising and/or outstanding scholars and researchers to undertake advanced studies and/or research in the fields of applied science and technology needed for the development of the member countries.
The objective is to assist the needs of the IDB member countries in science and technology areas in which they are lacking but considered crucial to their development by enhancing the scientific, technological and research potentials of their scholars/ researchers and their institutions.

- Computer Science (including CAD/CAM)
- Renewable Energy/Fuel Technology
- Hydrology/Water Resources
- Metallurgy
- Chemical Engineering/Material Sciences
- Medicine/Pharmaceutical
- Agriculture/Food Technology
- System Engineering
- Space Science/Technology
- Environmental Preservation Technology
Detailed instructions on how to apply are given in the Application Form. The deadline for the application is September 30 every year. Any application arriving at the IDB after this date is processed for the subsequent year.
To inquire (further) about the program from the IDB, Please identify your age, nationality , your last degree, your field of study , institution you are attached to and your complete mailing address. There is no need to attach any documents (such as diploma ,transcripts , admission letter ,etc..) with your inquiry letter. If you are not eligible, a standard regret letter will be sent to you by mail. If you are eligible, a package (containing complete Program documents) will be sent by mail.
