PHD studentships are offered in TSSG (Telecommunications Software & Systems Group), Waterford Institute of Technology, Waterford, Ireland

Duration: 3 years.
Advisor: Dr. Huaiguo Fu

The successful applicant will develop the novel algorithms, approaches and framework for distributed knowledge sharing, data mining, as well as trust and identity management. The work will also include development of the Grid-based or P2P-based system of data mining for Digital Ecosystems.

The successful candidates will:

• Possess a Master degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Have strong programming skills of Java, and experience of implementing numerical algorithms with Java
• Have a good understanding or some experience in the following areas: database, statistics, machine learning, or data mining.
• With good written and spoken English, and ideally some existing publications

The positions are funded by the project of EU IST Network of Excellence “OPAALS”
