International Scholarships - 2005/6 Academic Year
Northumbria University is pleased to announce the allocation of itsscholarship fund for students entering the University in the academicyear 2005-2006. The University has made available a total fund inexcess of £300,000, with individual awards ranging from £500 to £2000.
This is apportioned both by subject area and by the country oforigin of the student. For more details on what scholarships areavailable to you, please refer to the information below.
Scholarships will primarily be awarded on academic merit, and will be open to all students eligible for the overseas fee.
This year Northumbria University has made some significant changesto the way in which we award scholarships, which are now made in one oftwo ways:
- Our admissions staff will identify any applications that showparticular academic merit, and an award will be made at the same timeas an unconditional offer is sent out.
- Appointed Northumbria University staff can make scholarshipoffers on the spot to deserving candidates attending interview and spotoffer sessions.
It is no longer necessary for students to complete and submit an application form.
All scholarships will be offered only to students who have been madean unconditional offer, and must be accepted within the stateddeadline. The normal deadline for response will be two weeks but wherethe scholarship offer is sent by mail, four weeks will be acceptable.In order to receive the scholarship, students must accept their offerof a place at Northumbria as well as accepting the scholarship.

Awards ranging from £500 - £1000 are available for students joining Informatics programmes.
Awards ranging from £500 - £1000 are available for students joining Engineering and Technology programmes in Semester 2.
Awards of £500 are available to students joining Business programmes.
Indonesia
Awards of £1000 are available for students joining Business programmes.
Awards of £2000 are available for students joining Tourism programmes.
Malaysia
Awards ranging from £500 - £2000 are availablefor students joining Applied Sciences, Built Environment, Engineeringand Technology, Informatics, Law and Business programmes.
Philippines
Awards of £1000 are available for students joining Business programmes.
Singapore
Awards of £1000 are available for students joining Business programmes.
Sri Lanka
Awards ranging from £500 - £2000 are available for students joining Informatics programmes.
Awards of £1000 are available for students joining Business programmes.
Awards of £2000 are available for students joining Tourism programmes.
Taiwan
Awards of £1000 are available for students joining Business programmes.
Vietnam
Awards of £1000 - £2000 are available for students joining Built Environment programmes.
Awards of £2000 are available for students joining postgraduate programmes at Newcastle Business School.
