Scholarship Description
The IFUW fellowships & grants are intended to help finance shortresearch & training projects & to serve as complimentary fundsfor longer study & research programs. The number distributed variesfrom 15-25 and awards vary in value from $US10000 to C$6000. They aremeant to encourage advanced scholarship & original research byuniversity women. Applicants must be well started on their researchprogram, awards are not made for the 1st year of a PhD. They areintended to cover at least 8 months of work & should be taken upwithin 9 months of award date. For the 2005/2006 competition, theapplication deadline for independent members & internationalindividual members is 1 November 2004. Deadlines for members applyingthrough one of IFUW's 77 national affiliates vary by country, butnormally fall between 1 September & 1 October 2005. Applicantsshould apply to national affiliate in the first instance. Applicationpackages will be available from March 2005.
