Applications are invited for a Ph.D. Student Position in a DFG-funded research group at the Institute of Physics, University of Stuttgart.
The group’s activities encompass single-molecule studies of membrane proteins by means of advanced optical fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy. The suitable candidate should have a degree in Physics, Biophysics or Physical Chemistry with a solid knowledge in one of the following fields: single-molecule spectroscopy, ultrafast laser physics, or experimental quantum optics. A vital interest in interdisciplinary research with the Life sciences is an asset. The payment for a duration of 36 months will be according to BAT IIa/2. The University seeks to increase the number of female scientists and encourages them to apply. Handicapped persons with comparable qualifications receive preferential status.
