Germany: PhD Scholarships in Social and Behavioral Sciences
What happens to institutions and individuals under conditions of demographic aging andfast knowledge turnover? The Jacobs Center focuses in research andteaching on exactly this question and is in particular interested in developmental processes in the work context.The interdisciplinary PhD-program (social and behavioral sciences) isrevolving around thematic areas such as the following: (i) A comparisonof physical and psychological profiles of older and younger workers:The role of motivation, physical activity, and environmental stress;(ii) Ageism in companies and its relationship to older and youngerworkers' job performance; (iii) Participation in lifelong learning -organizational and individual predictors. Work on the PhD thesis isaccompanied by doctoral seminars and a colloquium series.
Weare looking for excellent international and German students from thesocial and behavioral sciences. Students are expected to hold a degreeequivalent to a Master or a Diplom.
