PhD Positions in Nonlinear Optimization and Inverse Problems, Germany

WIAS invites applications for Research Position in the Research Group ‘Nonlinear Optimization and Inverse Problems’ (Head: D. Hömberg), starting at the earliest possible date (Ref. 09/14). We expect a certified university degree (a PhD is preferred) and excellent knowledge in one of the following fields:

  • Nonlinear optimization,
  • Optimal control or shape optimization of partial differential equations,
  • Inverse problems,
  • Numerical approximation of partial differential equations.

Salary is according to the TVöD scale. The initial appointment is limited to three years. The Weierstrass Institute is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
