PhD Position on “Optimization, Control and Visualization of AcrobaticSomersaults and Twists” with Dr. Katja Mombaur and Prof. Dr. HansGeorg Bock, Simulation and Optimization Group, IWR, University ofHeidelberg
The subject of the PhD thesis is highly interdisciplinary and coversthe fields of robotics, scientific computing and computergraphics. The tasks include the creation of complex 3D models of thehuman body, the application and development of optimal control andreal-time control algorithms, and the interpretation and visualizationof the resulting optimal motions. The salary is at least BAT IIA/2.
A diploma or masters degree in engineering, mathematics or physics isrequired. Ideal candidates have experience in numerical mathematics,in particular in optimization and optimal control, mechanical modeling/multibody dynamics, and have programming skills in C or C++.
