Germany: PhD Position in Si Nanowire based Devices, Technical University of Dresden
The newly founded NaMLab is a research joint venture between Qimonda Dresden and Technical University of Dresden. It focuses on novel materials and structures as building blocks for future generations of devices in Si-technology. The work of the proposed dissertation will be embedded in the research activities on novel dielectrics (high-k materials) and on nanowires structures, including nanowire growth and processing. It will take part in existing international collaborations within several publicly funded projects and will have close ties with industrial activities.
Topics :
Processing of semiconductor nanowires, including positioning, contacting, covering with dielectrics etc. with the goal to realise novel devices such as memory cells, Device characterisation, Investigation of transport mechanisms, localisation phenomena etc. in collaboration with another PhD student.
Conditions:
The position is open starting in Feb. 2007. Initially, the experimental work will be carried out in Munich. In October 2007 it will be transferred into the newly built NaMLab location in Dresden. We offer a competitive salary and an exciting working atmosphere in a growing interdisciplinary team working on various aspects of materials science for future semiconductor devices.
Prerequisites:
Diplom / Master or equivalent in physics, electrical engineering or materials science. Experience with semiconductor physics / semiconductor technology is a plus. Fluent knowledge of English (spoken and written). Please provide a full CV, preferably by e-mail.
