The Image Understanding and PatternRecognition (IUPR) research group at the  German Research Center forArtificial Intelligence (DFKI GmbH) has several positions available for Researchers

Topics include
* document analysis,
* pattern recognition,
* statistical machine learning methods,
* multimedia databases,
* geometric matching and
* optimization algorithms.

The research positions also provide the opportunity for completing a doctoraldissertation at the University of Kaiserslautern. Because the IUPR group is in close cooperation with manyinternational research facilities, internships in the USA andseveral European countries can be arranged and supported.

Applicants should have a background in computer science, mathematics, statistics, pattern recognition, signal or image processing, and/or human computer interaction.
