Germany: International Call for Research School Fellowships, Ruhr-University
The Research School is open to applicants from any scientific discipline and nationality who would like to realise a doctoral research project within one of the 11 Thematic Priorities. Following the publication of the International Call for Application, suitable candidates for Research School fellowships are selected in a two stage process.
To qualify for a Research School scholarship, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
- A clearly above-average university degree (top 25%), such as Diploma, State Exam, M.Sc., M.A. or equivalent (e.g. B.Sc. or B.A. + successful 1-year qualifying phase at faculties offering fast-track options). This has to be documented by the completed and signed application form, which includes a short research proposal or exposé, as well as the relevant degree certificates and transcripts
- An adequate knowledge of German and/or English, depending on the doctoral research subject. If the candidate is not a native speaker and the previous degree course was not taught in English or German, this has to be documented by relevant language tests (e.g. TestDaF/DSH or TOEFL/IELTS).
- Two letters of recommendation of scientific experts in the field.
