The Mechanical Engineering Department of École Polytechnique de Montréal is recruiting 1 Ph.D. student in the field of solids mechanics applied to advanced materials applied to composites. The project title is:
Mechanical behavior prediction of polyimide/carbon composites used at high temperature. Collaboration École Polytechnique de Montréal – Corcordia University – Pratt and Whitney Canada.
The student will have a financial support of $19 000 / year, tax free. The financial support is for three years. The positions are available right now. Different arrangements can be made.
The candidate must show very strong background and aptitudes in Mathematics, Solid Mechanics and in Scientific Computations. Experience with the Mechanics of Composites and Finite Element Methods is not mandatory but is desirable. Candidates with other profiles could also be considered.
The student will join a research group of approximately 20 graduate students. For all the projects listed above, the applicant must show an interest in social interactions and teamwork.
The interested candidates should send:
1. Transcripts for their B.Ing. and M.Sc. (or equivalent). It is preferable to send translated copies (either English of French) but if the translation is not available the native language copies can be sent.
