Two kinds of fellowships are available forforeign students who wish to carry out their thesis work at the EcolePolytechnique:
 
Gaspard Monge PhD fellowships
For foreign students pursuing their undergraduate studies at the EcolePolytechnique,

To be eligible for consideration for aGaspard Monge Fellowship, the applicant must hold a research Master's degreefrom a Higher Education Institution, a European University oran international Partner University ¹. In case of Masters obtainedin countries outside the European Higher Education Area, students should submitpreliminary applications to DED for an assessment of their qualifications bythe relevant authorities in order to be granted a special permit.

Gaspard Monge Fellowships are awarded tostudents of outstanding academic records, for the potential andrelevance of their research projects.

* Researchwork for the thesis must be conducted in a laboratory of the EcolePolytechnique research center. The starting year of the fellowship isthat of the Master's degree. Exemptions may be granted under certaincircumstances, but the thesis should not start later than two years after theMasters.

* Studentsfrom a French institution are expected to spend some time abroad conductingresearch for their theses in a foreign research laboratory. The periods ofstudy abroad must exceed six weeks at least, prior to the end of the secondyear of the fellowship.
