Doctoral Scholarships for Researchers linked to a FlemishUniversity

The programme ‘Flemish Doctoral Scholarships' (VLADOC)finances doctoral research on a topic of direct relation to the developmentissue. The research should be carried out by researchers linked to a Flemishuniversity.

The programme wants to fund high-level, high-qualitydevelopment research. At the same time, the programme endeavours to maintainand expand scientific expertise and rejuvenate the expert group addressing thedevelopment issue at Flemish universities.

Each year, the VLIR launches a call for the submission ofdoctoral projects. Selection takes place on a competitive basis. The DoctoralScholarship is awarded for two years, renewable once.

Researchers linked to a Flemish university may submit aproposal, provided that they have obtained their first degree or a subsequentmaster's degree no more than five years before the start date of thescholarship.
