Denmark: International PhD Studentship in A Step Closer to Sunlight Driven Water Photolysis, University of Southern Denmark
A three year Ph.D. scholarship for the project “A Step Closer to Sunlight Driven Water Photolysis†is available to a well qualified Danish, EU or International candidate with a Master of Science degree in Chemistry equivalent to the Danish Cand. Scient.-degree.
The project involves synthetic coordination chemistry and spectroscopy under the supervision of Professor Christine McKenzie at the department of Physics and Chemistry at The University of Southern Denmark and two periods of six months duration under the supervision of Professor Edwin Constable at the Department of Chemistry at The University of Basel, Switzerland. Both departments are well equipped for the experimental work required. The student will be associated with the Danish research school “Metal Ions in Biological Systems†at the University of Copenhagen.
The place of employment will be the Faculty of Science at the University of Southern Denmark. The Ph.D. project must be completed in accordance with the PhD study programme from the Faculty of Science, which includes the completion of course work of 30 ECTS, communication of scientific knowledge (300 hours), and teaching duties for the department. Proficiency in English is essential, and applicants may be required to produce an IELTS-test.
The applications are evaluated based on a number of criteria including publications, grades, references, etc.
The scholarship is salaried in accordance with the agreement on salaried Ph.D. students between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations, AC. and includes payment of tuition fee for the entire duration of the scholarship. The estimated starting salary will be DKK 22000-26500 (€ 2975-3575) per month plus an accrued pension of ~12 % depending of qualifications and experience.
