The School of Information Technology offers Dean's Scholarships at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Below is a summary of the Dean's Scholarships available to commencing and continuing students. The number of scholarships awarded may be varied according to budgetary constraints.

DEAN'S UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS - BIT, BIS, BS(IT)

  • For Commencing Students
    The School of Information Technology awards Dean's Scholarships at two levels (25% and 40%) to commencing students on the basis of their academic record and achievements. These scholarships are awarded to both domestic and international students.
  • For Continuing Students
    Undergraduate students must have completed at least 2 semesters full-time to be be considered for this scholarship.
    • 40% Scholarship: eligible students must have attained a cumulative average of 85% (VC's list) over 2 consecutive semesters. This is conditional upon satisfactory achievements in the previous semesters.
    • 25% Scholarship: eligible students must have attained a cumulative average of 82% (Dean's list) over 2 consecutive semesters. This is conditional upon satisfactory achievements in the previous semesters.
  • Incentive Scholarship
    Students who do not meet the requirements for a commencing Dean's Scholarship, but attain a cumulative average of 85% (VC's List) in their first semester may be offered an Incentive Scholarship providing a 25% tuition remission for their second semester of study. Consideration for continuing scholarship assistance will be made after the second semester of study as per the continuing student scholarship regulations.

DEAN'S POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS - MIT(Prof), MIT(Exec) MITM

  • For Commencing Students
    The School of Information Technology awards Dean's Scholarships at two levels (25% and 40%) to commencing students on the basis of their academic record and achievements. These scholarships are awarded to both domestic and international students.
  • For Continuing Students
    Postgraduate students must have completed at minimum of one full-time semester to be be considered for this scholarship.
    • 40% Scholarship: eligible students must have attained a cumulative average of 85% (VC's list) over a consecutive semester. This is conditional upon satisfactory achievements in the previous semesters (if applicable).
    • 25% Scholarship: eligible students must have attained a cumulative average of 82% (Dean's list) over a consecutive semester. This is conditional upon satisfactory achievements in the previous semesters (if applicable).
  • Incentive Scholarship
    Applicants who do not meet the requirements of an entering Dean's Scholarship but have attained a high level of achievement may be offered an Incentive Scholarship providing a 25% tuition remission for their first semester of study. These will be considered on a case by case basis. Consideration for continuing scholarship assistance will be made after the first semester of study as per the continuing student scholarship regulations.
