Project Description
Phase Equilibria Study of Complex SystemsAssociated with Ni.This project aims to develop a further understanding of phaseequlibria of complex systems associated with Ni and also provide abasis for the development of thermodynamic database of the systems.These include phase equilibria study of Fe-Ni-O, Fe-Ni-Co-O, Fe-Ni-Co-Mg- Al-O, Fe-Ni-Co-Mg- Al-Cr-Si- O systems. The main tasks associatedwith the project include: reviewing of current understanding of thephase equilibria and of thermodynamic data of the systems;undertaking experiments that include high temperature equilibrationof synthetic oxides mixtures; as well as materials characterisationsusing electron probe x-ray microanalysis (EPMA) and field emissionscanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM).
