Fellowship and Scholarship Program 2006
The Leukaemia Foundation is a national not-for-profit foundation dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and related blood cancers and disorders. Through its National Research Program, the Foundation seeks to foster innovative research into the causes, diagnosis and treatment of these cancers, and the care of patients and families. The program includes grants for research projects, in addition to scholarships and fellowships to foster the careers of talented young scientists. The Program also supports national research facilities, like the AMP Leukaemia and Lymphoma Tissue Bank, and funds selected clinical trials undertaken by the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group.
The Leukaemia Foundation of Australia calls for applications for:
•Clinical and Postdoctoral fellowships (up to $100,000 pa)
•PhD scholarships ($40,000 pa)
•Honours year scholarships ($10,000 pa)
These awards are to support basic, applied and translational research in Australia into the causes, treatment and care of people with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders. Selections will be made by an independent panel of experts. Grants will be awarded for one year but extensions may be considered from successful applicants in subsequent funding rounds.
Closing dates for receipt of applications:• Fellowship applications close on 30 June 2005
• Scholarship applications close on 30 September 2005
