Australia: Alan White Scholarship for Animal Welfare Research

The Alan White Scholarship which comprises an award of $7000 is available to full-time or part-time students for the funding of original research aimed at improving the welfare of animals in Australia. Applicants must demonstrate in their application that their proposed research project is supportive of the policies of the RSPCA and that the scholarship will be used to further animal welfare. Applicants must be enrolled in full-time education in an accredited course at an Australian University or College.
The scholarship is not restricted to any particular academic discipline and applications from all fields of study are invited. Previous scholarship winners have included projects studying environmental enrichment techniques for captive nocturnal mammals in the Taronga Zoo, and the effects of early desexing on the behaviour and health of dogs and cats, and using bioacoustics for individual identification of wildlife.
