What's offered?

The School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at theUniversity of Queensland offers full or half Scholarships in Masterdegrees by coursework in the following engineering and IT programs:Master of Engineering (Biomedical, Embedded Systems, Electrical,Electricity Market, RF and Microwave, Software, Systems,Telecommunications), Master of Information Technology, Master ofInteraction Design, Master of Science (Computer Science).  TheseScholarships cover tuition fees for one year standard study load (twoteaching semesters).

The value of these scholarships for 2006 are up to AU$11,600.00 persemester to AU$23,200.00 maximum for full scholarships, and up toAU$5,800.00 per semester to a maximum of AU$11,600.00 for halfScholarships.  The awards are subject to satisfactory achievementeach semester.  There are no bonding conditions attached to theseScholarships.

Each Scholarship covers Program tuition fees, but does NOT provide for:
    *Overseas student health cover
    *Living allowances
    *Books or other study requisites
    *Tuition fees for repeating failed courses

Please note: you must have already submitted an application to study atThe University of Queensland, and have received at least a ConditionalOffer for one of our School's postgraduate coursework programs prior toapplying for one of the Scholarships.

Who can apply?

Applicants should posses a recently conferred, recognised undergraduatedegree from an overseas institution that satisfies The University ofQueensland's entry requirements into the relevant program.

What are the Selection Criteria?

The Selection Criteria for these scholarships are based on two main areas of achievement:
    *Academic achievement as demonstrated by an excellent academic record.
    *Leadership potential as demonstrated by nonacademic pursuits or in paid work in your preferred field.   

How do I apply?

All Scholarship applications are to be made by completing the online formand submitting required .pdf attachments.  These documents includea full CV with both e-mail and postal addresses, a certified academicrecord of marks or grades from your home institution, and a separatestatement that addresses the two selection criteria as outlinedabove.  Applicants should also supply two (2) references thatsupport their applications in the leadership criteria.

You should have also submitted an International Student Application for Graduate Coursework Studies to The University of Queensland or to an authorised International Educational Representative in your home country.  There is no interview for the scholarship. The closing date for receipt of all applications is 1st December of the year preceding intended arrival at the University of Queensland.

When are the Scholarships announced?

All applicants will be notified as to the outcome of their applicationby approximately one month after the closing date of applications.
