AOTS Japan Scholarships
The International Graduate Course for Continuing Professional Development
AOTS offers extrainees in selected ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar) the opportunity to undergo higher academic study at the Nagaoka University of Technology, with the aim of their obtaining further knowledge in their relevant field for the industrialization and further development of their countries.
The successful candidates will be provided with 175,000 yen/month according to the Scholarship standards of the Japanese Government as a monthly allowance.

We hereby announce the application procedure for admission to this course for the 2005 fiscal year as follows:
1. Master’s Program
Authorized Student Enrollment: Up to 10 students per year
a. Field of Study:
* Mechanical Engineering
* Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineering
* Material Science and Technology
* Civil Engineering
* Environment Systems Engineering
* Bio Engineering
* Management and Information Systems Engineering
b. Duration
2 years from September 2005 to August 2007
c. Requirements for Application
- Have nationality of one of the following countries and live in one of those countries. (Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Myanmar)
- Be employed as a researcher or an engineer at a university, a research institute, or a public/private company at the time of his/her application.
- AOTS ex-trainees
- Age: Under 35 years of age as of 1 April 2005 ( i. e., born after 2 April 1970)
- Language: Proficient in English
- Health: Physically and mentally healthy
- Academic background: Applicants must satisfy one of the following requirements:
(i) have graduated from a university in Japan
(ii)have been formally educated for 16 years in a country other than Japan
d. Application Procedure
The application form will be provided through AOTS Overseas Offices (in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines) or AOTS Alumni Societies (in Vietnam and Myanmar). Please submit all the materials to AOTS Overseas Offices or AOTS Alumni Societies by 15 September 2004.
2.Doctoral Program
There is also a Doctoral Program for candidates who already hold a master’s degree. Up to 6 students may be enrolled on this program. For further details, please contact AOTS Overseas Offices (in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines) or AOTS Alumni Societies (in Vietnam and Myanmar)
