2005 Summer Program in Research for Graduate Students
Description
Students in this two-month program participate in research under theguidance of a senior ETS staff member in one of the following areas:psychology, education, teaching, learning, psychometrics, statistics,literacy, policy research, linguistics, educational technology, newconstructs, minority issues, testing issues including alternate formsof assessment for special populations, and new forms of assessment.Students also participate in seminars and workshops on a variety oftopics.
Goals of the Program
The goals are to provide research opportunities to individuals enrolledin a doctoral program in the fields indicated above and to increase thenumber of women and underrepresented minority professionals conductingresearch in educational measurement and related fields.
Award Duration
June 1, 2005 - July 29, 2005
Award
The award includes a $5,000 stipend and limited round-trip travel reimbursement from the intern's university to Princeton, consistent with ETS travel policy, but not more than the cost of economy class airfare.

Who Should Apply
Graduate students who are currently enrolled in a doctoral program and have completed a minimum of two years of full-time graduate study in a program emphasizing one of the areas specified above.

Applicants must submit their application materials electronically as indicated.
- Standardized Letter of Recommendationfrom two individuals (e.g., academic advisor, professor) who arefamiliar with the applicant's workâ€â€this must be completed andsubmitted.
- Completed online application containing project selections and a statement of interest.

- Original graduate and undergraduate academic transcripts (sent directly from the institution to ETS via U.S. Mail)
Selection
The main criteria for selection will be scholarship and the match ofapplicant interests with participating ETS researchers. ETS affirmativeaction goals will be considered. Late or incomplete applications willnot be considered.
Deadline
Applications must be submitted by February 1, 2005.
Decision
Applicants will be notified by April 1, 2005.
