About iMURS (Scholarship levels)
Macquarie University offers Research Awards for Areas and Centres of Excellence to postgraduate students of exceptional research promise. The awards known as iMURS were first introduced in 2001. They are aimed at assisting students undertaking postgraduate research of interest to the University's Research Areas of Excellence. Link to areas list and staff profiles.
Successful applicants will have the equivalent of an Australian four year Bachelors degree with First Class Honours at a high level of achievement or else be able to provide strong evidence of equivalent achievement to high First Class Honours.
If you are seeking to establish equivalence to First Class Honours you are encouraged to provide full documentation of your achievements to assist in the assessment of your qualifications. Other qualifications to be considered include:
- Further research experience
- Publication of research (preferably in refereed journals)
- Conference presentations
- The completion of a Masters degree by research or with a substantial research component etc
- Highly relevant work experience
If you have qualifications awarded by institutions outside of Australia, please note that the details we give on the assessment of qualifications gained overseas include an English Language requirement.
