The remote sensing group within Department of Atmospheric Sciences, University of North Dakota (UND) is accepting applications for a post-doctoral/research associate position. The position will involve in comparing the Single Column Model (SCM) simulations with NASA MODIS satellite and DOE ARM surface cloud-radiation observations.

The successful candidate will have a recent PhD degree or M.S. degree with several years of working experience in atmospheric sciences. He or she should have a strong background on modeling and computing, and must be familiar with UNIX/Linux systems and programming, such as IDL and FORTRAN.

The initial appointment will be for 1 year period, with a possibility for extension of 2-3 additional years depending on satisfactory performance and the availability of funding. Salary is commensurate with qualification and experience.
