USA: Postdoctoral Research Associate at Food Policy Institute, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey
A postdoctoral position is available at the Food Policy Institute, a research unit of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. The Institute’s mission is to bring the depth of academia’s knowledge to bear on pressing issues and challenges facing the food system by providing timely and relevant research that is responsive to the needs of government, industry and the consumer.
The position involves designing and analyzing research on public perceptions of agroterrorism and unintentional food contamination, in addition to analyzing a broad range of existing data, including results from national surveys and media analyses. The position is a full-time one year research appointment, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year.
Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, including but not limited to Communications, Psychology, Sociology, Public Policy and Economics, strong quantitative skills, strong writing skills, and a track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Preferred qualifications include experience with food safety, food contamination, terrorism or risk communication research.
