Postdoctoral Positions in Bioinformatics, University of California, San Diego, USA

Postdoc positions are open in Wei Wangs group (http://wanglab.ucsd.edu) in Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at University of California, San Diego.

An ideal candidate should obtain Ph.D. in bioinformatics/computer science/physics, is highly motivated and has strong programming skills. Extensive knowledge and experience with either of the following areas is required: (1) machine learning algorithms such as Bayesian network and hidden Markov model; (2) database and web server setup and maintenance.

The expected postdoc will be responsible for organizing and analyzing in-house epigenomic (histone modification and DNA methylation) and genomic data (ChIP-seq, digital expression profiling) that will be generated through collaboration projects. He/she will also be developing methods for integrating multiple sources of data to understand the mechanisms of transcriptional regulation and reconstruct transcriptional networks in human embryonic stem cells.
