I have several immediate openings for postdoctoral researchers withinthe Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences(www.ices.utexas.edu) at the University of Texas at Austin. Thepositions involve research on inverse problems in the geosciences andbioengineering, specifically in seismology, atmospheric transport,ocean dynamics, mantle convection, subsurface flow, and cardiacimaging and electromechanics modeling. The research will be conductedjointly with collaborators from ICES, the Jackson School of Geosciences,Sandia National Labs, and several other universities. Candidatesshould have a strong background in scientific computing, numericalanalysis, and PDE solvers. Background in finite elements, inverseproblems, continuum mechanics, and optimization is desirable.Experience in large-scale parallel code development is essential.
