Postdoctoral Position in Automated Identification and Characterization of Landforms on Mars at the Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI)
A postdoctoral position is available at the Universities SpaceResearch Association�s Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) to join aresearch project in automated identification and characterization oflandforms on Mars and other planetary bodies. Automatic identificationof craters and valley networks is of particular interest. The positionis supported by NASA - AISRP grant and will be offered for an initialperiod of up to two years, with possible extension to a maximum ofthree years.
This is a multidisciplinary project and the successful candidate willhave experience with at least one of the following: planetarygeomorphology, image processing, pattern recognition, machinelearning. The position requires a Ph.D. in one of these fields andexcellent computer programming skills.
