USA: Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Center for Theoretical Neuroscience at Columbia University
Center postdoctoral fellowships will support fellows for 2 years to work in the Center as a whole, free to collaborate with any of the Center faculty without being committed to any one in particular. Money to support travel to meetings or courses and other expenses will also be available. Typically after 2 years, a fellow would be sufficiently involved in specific research of one faculty member or another so that the fellow, should they desire to stay longer, could then transition into support by the faculty member’s research funds. You may also apply directly to any of the Center’s faculty to work as a postdoc in their lab.
Applicants for Center postdoctoral fellowships should have a strong background and education in theoretical neuroscience or biology or in a quantitative field such as mathematics, theoretical or experimental physics, engineering, or computer science, and commitment to a future research career in neuroscience. Prior biological or neuroscience training is not required. TO APPLY, please send a curriculum vitae, a statement of previous research and research goals (here is some advice for those new to neuroscience), up to three relevant publications, and have three letters of recommendation sent to us. It is your responsibility to see that your application is complete, including all letters of recommendation.
The application deadline for Center postdoctoral fellowships beginning Fall 2006 is January 30, 2006.
Send application materials by email to andrew@neurotheory.columbia.edu (please include your name and “postdoctoral fellowship, CTN” in the subject line). Or, send applications to:
