The Weatherhead East Asian Institute ofColumbia University invites applications for its 2007-2008 PostdoctoralFellowship in Modern Southeast Asian Studies. Candidates from allsocial science disciplines, including history, are welcome to apply.The fellowship will cover a 10 or 12-month period beginning July 1,2007 or September 1, 2007. The Fellow will devote half time to his orher own research and will teach one graduate-level course on SoutheastAsia per semester. The stipend for 2007-2008 is $42,000, plus benefits.

Applicants must have completed all Ph.D. degree requirements(completed and filed the dissertation) between July 2003 and July 2007.Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. in a social sciencediscipline, including history, working on modern Southeast Asia.Applications from individuals who hold or have held regular facultypositions will not be considered.
