USA: Postdoc Position in Optimization at Stanford University
Optimization and Numerical Modeling of Petroleum Reservoirs
The Smart Fields Consortium is seeking a scientist or engineer with astrong background in optimization and numerical modeling of large, highly complex systems. The individual selected will work on andcoordinate research programs on the development and application ofoptimization, model updating and uncertainty propagation techniques foroptimizing production from petroleum reservoirs. Techniques suitable foroptimizing related processes such as the geological sequestration ofcarbon dioxide will also be considered. The candidate must have a Ph.D.degree from a recognized university in engineering, computer sciences,or a related science. Previous experience on the development and use ofoptimization codes for large systems and strong computational skillswill be an asset.
