Health Services Research (HealthTechnology Assesssment)   (Peninsula Medical School)

Two full-time posts are available withinthe Peninsula Technology Assessment Group (PenTAG) to work on assessing theeffectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a range of health serviceinterventions. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary group, funded bythe NHS HTA Programme. PenTAG produces four HTAs (on drugs, devices,procedures, health promotion or screening programmes) per year for nationalpolicy makers in the NHS, mainly NICE. This is a University of Exetervacancy.

We are looking for two researchers to lead the production of HTAs. Withappropriate support, you will manage project teams which include ClinicalSenior Lecturers, Health Economists, Decision Analytic Modellers andInformation Scientists and work closely with expert clinicians in relevantfields.

This is a rare opportunity for researchers to contribute to the development ofNHS policy directly and across a wide range of issues using cutting edgemethods in research synthesis.

You will be a graduate with relevant experience; have skills in criticalappraisal; be familiar with health technology assessment and researchsynthesis; have excellent project management skills and a proven ability todeliver high-quality work.

Starting salary will be up to £27,116 pa on Research Scale 1a (£19,460 to£29,128 p.a.) or Research Scale 2 (£27,116 to £35,883 p.a.). The contract willrun for two years in the first instance with extension to 2011 likely.
