Applications are invited for an enthusiastic postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Membrane Transport Group of Dr L E Williams in the School of Biological Sciences. The project is funded by the EU and comprises a consortium of European labs investigating the mechanisms regulating absorption, distribution and storage of both micronutrients (essential elements) and non-essential potentially toxic metals in crop species. This research has important implications for agriculture and human health as plants are the basis of all foodstuffs we ingest. Experience in molecular biology is essential and an interest in plant biology is desirable. The post will be available from March 2006 for a period of three years and will require some international travel.
Salary is in the range £23,457-£28,850 with a maximum starting salary of £25,633 p.a.
