Postdoctoral Research Associate, 14 month fixed term contract, full-time.School of Computer Science and Information Systems, Faculty of Social Sciences

We wish to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the MyPlan research project, which is funded by JISC under its e-Learning programme. The aim of MyPlan is to develop techniques and tools for supporting personalised planning of lifelong learning. The main duties of the postholder will be to research, develop and evaluate personalisation techniques for the creation, search and recommendation of learning pathways through courses and modules.

You will have a PhD in computer science, HCI or related subject, and substantial experience in software development. Experience in one or more of information retrieval, personalised web-based systems, service oriented architectures and software evaluation methodologies, would be advantageous.

Salary will be 30,147 rising to 33,821 per annum on RA1A of the Research Salary Scales. Initial salary award will be dependent on skills and experience.
