Postdoc Position in Enzymology and Directed Evolution in Microdroplets, University of Cambridge, UK
University of Cambridge, Department of Chemistry, UK
We invite applications for a post-doctoral research associate to work with Professor Chris Abell and Dr Florian Hollfelder within the multi-disciplinary research initiative on microfluidic microdroplets (see
http://www-microdroplets.ch.cam.ac.uk).
We are looking for a biochemist or biological chemist with experience on enzymology. The project will focus on using microdroplets to study enzyme reactions and inhibition and directed evolution. Applicants should have (or be about to receive) a Ph.D. in biological chemistry or biochemistry. Specific skills in enzymology are required. Experience in protein engineering, molecular biology, directed evolution (screening and selection techniques such as colony screening, phage-, ribosome- or yeast-display, DNA library synthesis) or microfluidic device fabrication would be advantageous but is not essential.
The position is available immediately. Applications should include a CV, publications list, contact details for three professional referees, and a completed form PD18 Parts I and III (downloadable from
this page), and should be sent to Dr Katherine Abell, Department of Chemistry, Lensfield Road, Cambridge CB2 1EW, United Kingdom (e-mail: ka204[ at ]cam.ac.uk).
