UK: Post Doctoral Research in Regulation of Chromosome Segregation
We are offering a 3 year training and development position for apost-doctoral scientist who has either recently completed his/herdoctoral studies, is moving into a new research discipline, has limitedprevious experience of key transferable skills, or is clinicallyqualified with little or no research experience. It providesopportunities to develop research project skills and developcollaborative links with colleagues within the Institute and elsewhere.
Applications are requested from highly motivated individuals to studythe mechanisms controlling bipolar attachment of chromosomes to spindlemicrotubules in fission yeast. [See Nature 412, 352 (2001); Cell 111,419 (2002); EMBO J. 23, 1289 (2004); Mol. Cell 17, 49 (2005) forprevious work of our laboratory.]
You should have a working knowledge of molecular biology; knowledgeand/or experience of yeast genetics, protein biochemistry or time lapsefluorescence microscopy would be a distinct advantage.

Salary for this position is from £25,858 to £31,343 per annum(inclusive of Location Allowance). Membership of MRC Pension Schemeavailable.
