isan interdisciplinary research centre embedded within the Faculty ofLife Sciences at the University of Manchester . The Centre wasestablished in 1995 with the long-term aims of elucidating thestructure and function of extracellular matrices, cell-matrixadhesions, and cell signalling pathways, defining the contribution ofcell-matrix interactions to human diseases, and developing approachesfor preventing and treating these diseases.
Applicationsare invited for a postdoctoral research associate position to join aresearch group integrated into the Wellcome Trust Centre forCell-Matrix Research. The project focuses on the in vivo characterisation of the function of collagen type XXVII. The successfulapplicant should have a PhD in a life science with practical experienceof skeletogenesis, histology, immunohistochemistry, protein chemistry,EM and genotyping, The position is funded by a 3 year project grantfrom the Arthritis Research Campaign.
The post is available for one year in the first instance with potential for renewal for a further two years.
Salary:
circa range £19,400 - £24,000 p.a. (depending upon experience) plus adiscretionary two point enhancement offered by the Arthritis ResearchCampaign of £2,110 p.a.
