Postdoc research position on social cohesion for the projecthttp://www.equalsoc.org(4-5 days per week, for a period of two years, with a possible extension)

The AIAS offers a Post-doctoral fellowship to someone with a backgroundin sociology or political science, to work on issues around labourmarkets, welfare states, values, organizations, and politicalpreferences. The researcher will be part of an EU-funded Network ofExcellence called EQUALSOC, which connects thirteen well-known researchcentres across Europe, including Nuffield College Oxford, the MannheimZentrum fur Europäische Sozialforschung, and the Swedish Institute forSocial Research in Stockholm. The candidate has some freedom indeveloping the research agenda, provided that it fits into the EQUALSOCnetwork, and in particular into its Research Group “Trust, Associations,and Legitimacy”.

While primarily focused on research, the job will include assistancewith coordinating the international research network. Teaching isoptional and can at maximum involve 0.2 fte.

- a gross monthly salary of between € 2191 and € 4049 (scales 10 to 11);

Candidates should:
- hold a Ph.D. in sociology, political science or a related discipline;
- have excellent skills in quantitative research methodology, preferablyexpressed through publications in international academic journals orworking papers;
- be fluent in English (both written and spoken).
