Postdoctoral fellow / research scientist position in immunogenetics
Service of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine and Institute of Microbiology
University Hospital and University of Lausanne, Switzerland
Our laboratory offers a position for a post-doctoral fellow or a senior scientist in the field of host immunogenetics. Our research focuses on polymorphisms in host immune genes that influence susceptibility to infectious diseases, including fungal, bacterial and viral infections. The aim is to develop functional testing of relevant genetic variants. Targeted genes are obtained through candidate gene-based and genomewide association studies. The laboratory is located in the University Hospital of Lausanne, within a dynamic research environment in multiple fields including immunology, microbiology, genetics and bio-informatics.
The position is opened to a person with a PhD in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology. The ideal candidate has experience in genotyping and sequencing techniques, basic cellular biology (transfection, mutagenesis, gene silencing, flow cytometry), knowledge in the field epidemiology and statistics and interest in innate immunity and/or infectious diseases. The candidate should have organizational skills, be able to work independently and interact with collaborators in various fields of expertise.
