Description:
A Postdoc position in analytical chemistry is available in the visual cognition lab of the Department of Medicine/Physiology, University of Fribourg. We are looking for talented individuals who are highly-motivated and looking to expand their expertise on neurochemical analysis. You will develop MS-based highly sensitive methods to identify and quantify neuropeptides from the mammalian brain. The developed techniques will be used to study brain responses to pharmacological manipulations or changes in behavioral state. The lab offers state-of-the-art infrastructure to support your work, which includes different animal models and an Orbitrap MS used in conjunction with a 2D-nano HPLC.
Education The postdoctoral candidate should possess a PhD degree with a number of publications. Proficiency in English (both spoken and written), a science-driven curiosity and a team-oriented attitude are required. Prior experience with peptidomics or proteomics will be an advantage.
