Sweden: Postdoctoral Researcher in Distributed Generation, Industrial Electrical Engineering and Automation, Lund Unviersity
Position as Postdoctoral Researcher in Distributed Generation open at Industrial Electrical Engineering and Automation, Lund Unviersity, Sweden
Industrial electrical engineering and automation (IEA, www.iea.lth.se) is a division at the Faculty of Engineering, LTH at Lund University. IEA is responsible for all research and education in electric power engineering at LTH, but also gives courses in automation. Power engineering research areas are electric power systems and electrical drives. The main aim is a sustainable society with a reliable electricity supply and energy efficient transports. Key topics in power systems research are island operation of distributed generation, distribution networks with large amounts of cable and vulnerability analysis of technical infrastructures. The research on electrical drives is concerned with electro-hybrid vehicle drives and design of electrical machines based on new materials and production methods. The industrial collaboration is extensive.
IEA is participating in the EU demonstration project ADINE (www.adine.fi) on distributed generation. Our part concerns local voltage control of a microturbine interfaced with power electronics. Your principal task is to take an active part in this work including simulations, laboratory tests and the field tests that form the actual demonstrations in the project. Additionally we hope that you can become involved in other research projects as well as teaching as appropriate considering your interests.
You should have a PhD in power electronics with application to power systems. Experimental skills are important and it is an advantage if you are familiar with dSPACE or similar tools. Since you will work in an EU project, experience with European conditions for small-scale or renewable generation is appreciated. Good communication skills in speaking and writing are essential, and the same applies to your ability to work in a group.
Last day to apply is 28 October.
