CEMFI (Madrid) seeks a Post Doctoral Researcher for a period of two years. This person will work within and be funded by the EU’s Research and Training Network (RTN) “Microdata Methods and Practice”. The other organisations involved in the Network are CAM (Copenhagen), CNRS-EUREQua (Paris), IFAU (Uppsala) and Tinbergen Institute (Rotterdam and Amsterdam).
Research
Much of the research to be conducted by the Network falls under the following substantive themes: Consumer behaviour and economic welfare; Policy and programme evaluation methods; The empirical analysis of games and auctions; Methods for longitudinal/panel data analysis; Labour markets; and Health. These six themes and the Network’s general interest in methodological development, will serve as focal points for training, research collaboration and interaction between partners in the Network and affiliated nodes.
Training
The Network has an extensive training programme which includes doctoral programme courses, short courses, master-classes, workshops, international conferences and seminars and network meetings. The post-doctoral researcher will be able to choose from the wide variety of training offered by the Network partners.
Profile
To be considered for this post, a candidate must have recently obtained a PhD degree in economics or another social science. The degree must have a substantial quantitative component.
Eligible candidates are nationals from a European Union Member or Associated States (not Spain) or non-EU nationals if they have been resident in the EU (not Spain) for more than 4 out of the last 5 years. Candidates should not have been resident in Spain for more then 12 months out of the last 36 months immediately prior to the start date. Spanish nationals are eligible if they have been resident outside the EU for more than 4 out of the last 5 years. The Network can appoint some non-EU nationals that have not been resident in the EU for more than 4 out of the last 5 years.
The EU funded scholarship will be for two years. The basic living allowance will be Euro 40,075 per year with a further mobility allowance of Euro 426 per month for single and Euro 682 for researchers with a partner and/or children. Both basic allowance and mobility allowance are subject to Spanish taxes and national insurance.
