Spain: PhD and Postdoc Positions in Stem Cell Isolation / Embryologic Development


The REGENERATIVE MEDICINE UNIT of the Institute for Biology and Genetics in Medicine (IBGM), a joint venture of the University of Valladolid (Spain) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), has obtained recently a major award from the Spanish National Health Institute for support of translational research in Regenerative Medicine in the cardiovascular, eye and maxilofacial surgery areas. The Regenerative Medicine Unit has the support of associated clinical groups

Expressions of interest are invited from candidates with expertise in the following areas:

  • Stem Cell isolation and culture.
  • Embryologic Development.
  • In vitro and in vivo differentiation models.

The positions will open on June 2007 and are offered for 2-4 years depending on the specific research project.

The candidates will work in a multidisciplinary team with basic and clinical researchers to design and validate adult stem cell expansion protocols for human use in a licensed Cell Production Unit complying with EU GMPs.
