The Mathematical Imaging and Vision group at Nanyang Technological University is seeking a post-doc candidate working on surface compression/encoding.

The applicant should have a PhD in related areas with demonstrated background in data compression, mesh processing/construction. Encoding and decoding of mesh data is essential for the project. Strong programming skills are required, and experience with image/surface processing, mesh smoothing and mesh deformation is a plus.

This project aims to develop efficient and reliable methods for surface processing and transmission. Thus, compression/encoding are the major problems to work on for this project.

This position is available for 1 year and needs to be filled by January, 2010. Salary will be commensurate with experience and background.
