School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering

The Applied Optics Group within the School of Electricaland Electronic Engineering requires a Postdoctoral ResearchFellow to work in the field of optical imaging using SMARToptical sensors. This post is funded by the EPSRC "followon fund" scheme, which has the aim of taking newtechnologies closer to commercialisation. The aim of thispost will be to take a SMART optical sensor array developedwith our group and develop it into a camera to obtainimages to demonstrate the technology to potential investorsand provide industry with a platform to evaluate thetechnology.

Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent experience inthe field of applied optics, possess good practicalknowledge of electronic design and have excellentcommunication skills. An interest in the commercialisationof new technology is highly desirable.

Salary will be within the range £19,460 - £23,643 perannum, depending on qualifications and experience. Thispost will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a periodof one year.
