| Position Overview | TheAllan Wilson Centre for Molecular Ecology and Evolution, hosted byMassey University, seeks to appoint a postdoctoral fellow in the newlyestablished New Zealand Genome Centre. A position is available for apostdoctoral researcher to work on the primary initiative of thecentre, namely the sequencing of the kiwi genome. We require a personwith experience in large-insert genomic library construction methods,large scale DNA sequencing and / or bioinformatics.

| Purpose Statement | Thisfellowship will see a PhD graduate participate in research in theCentres of Research-funded Allan Wilson Centre for Molecular Ecologyand Evolution. |
| Responsible To | Through Professor David Lambert to the Directors of the Allan Wilson Centre. |
| Key Accountability Areas | You will be required to: - undertake research on the research project as advertised - undertake large-insert genomic library construction - undertake other duties as specified by the leader of the research programme - maintain accurate and tidy records of laboratory work - participate fully in the academic activities of the Centre and the Institute of Molecular BioSciences - provide quarterly research reports to the project leader summarising research progress and planned future research - diligently and faithfully serve the Centre and the University anduse your best endeavours to promote and protect the interests of theCentre and the University - maintain confidentiality both during and after the appointment as a Fellow |
