Job description

Two postdoctoral research positions areavailable on STW project NET.7050, entitled "Bayesian brain computerinterfacing - interpretation of patient intentions from single-trialEEG". This project is a collaboration between the Institute ofComputing and Information Sciences and the F.C. Donders Centre forCognitive Neuroimaging. Project leaders are Tom Heskes and Ole Jensen.The aim of the project is to improve the performance of BCI systems andto demonstrate their use in actual applications. To this end, noveltechniques for analyzing single-trial EEG data will be developed. Theparticular focus of this project is the use of Bayesian techniques toincorporate additional relevant information, for example regarding thelocalization of sources in the brain and to capture non-stationaritiesin the data.

Requirements

Required education/skills:Doctorate
Candidates should have a PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics,Physics, Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Science or a related study,with a strong background in signal processing / machine learning.

Conditions of employment

Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 2000 - 2500
Salaryscale 10.
Maximum salary amount in Euro's a month 3453
Employment basis: Temporary for specified period
Duration of the contract: 3 years (machine leaning) 2 years (source modeling/spatial filtering.
Maximum hours per week: 40

Additional conditions of employment:
a possible extension of another year , preferred starting date is September 1, 2005
