NIWA is a leading environmental research institute and a keyprovider of atmospheric, freshwater and marine research in New Zealand.
We are looking for a person to undertake research, publish theresults and provide information and advice to clients, on aircontaminant emissions including those from traffic and energy sourcesand the subsequent effects of these emissions on the environment. Thesuccessful applicant will also assist with the development of newservices and strategies in air quality research and consulting.
Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant aspect of air quality oratmospheric science with experience in the practical application ofresearch results and tools for air quality issues. A demonstratedability in research innovation and publication, project management aswell as knowledge of renewable energy technologies is desirable. Asound understanding of statistical procedures and an ability to applythese to environmental data is required, as is the ability tocompetently organise, manage and undertake investigations from theplanning stage through implementation to the reporting and review stage.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and flexible, anexcellent communicator (written and verbal), able to lead and manage avariety of projects, work effectively as part of a project team and becapable of dealing with a wide range of clients.
