A two-year postdoctoral position funded by the Humane Research Trust is available to develop a novel in vitroembryotoxicity test system that will employ exclusively human celllines in a multi-dimensional culture system. The project is aimed atthe replacement of animal cell and tissue based embryotoxicity testsand will involve the 20 standard chemical agents used currently by theEuropean Community to validate candidate embryotoxicity test systems.
The successful candidate will have a very strong background in cellculture, including methods of cell viability assessment as well astechniques such as flow cytometry, fluorescence spectroscopy andWestern blotting. Excellent aseptic technique is essential to theproject, whilst an interest in toxicology would be an advantage.
